For Sale 57’ Trad Style Narrowboat 2+2 Berth
Built in 2004 by Burton Narrowboats
Currently moored in Aylesbury, named Libran Legacy but hasn’t been liveried so feel free to change to any name you like. We have some graphics for it but it’s up to you if you’d like them put on.
A bright modern style boat perfect for residential use or for comfortable cruising with attention to detail in the provision of facilities and convenience.
Central heating and hot water are provided on demand by a Morco combi boiler, the starter and 5 leisure 110Ah batteries are charged by the Beta Marine 38HP engine’s twin alternators when cruising and by the 3kW combination inverter charger unit when connected to shore power. The inverter has the ability to add on a solar panel charging input later and there is space and the connections for a portable generator to be used, if you find yourself cruising for only very short periods away from shore power, alternatively the engine can be run for a few hours to recharge. The boat was lined in moisture resistant plasterboard and finished in brilliant white by the first owner and it still looks clean and bright. It’s not adversely affected by moisture unlike standard plasterboard and compared to ply or plastic linings offers some valuable extra time in case of fire.
Starting in the large Lounge there is a 12v DAB radio with a Bluetooth adapter, opposite the sofa there’s a 32” Samsung Smart TV with Wi-Fi adapter on a swivel mount so it can face the kitchen or just be in a better position for lying on the sofa, also a Blu-ray/DVD player. The Freeview aerial mast can be easily removed for cruising but ensures a good signal when moored up and a satellite dish could be added to it if desired. The fold away table can seat 4 in the space next to the kitchen or it can be wheeled around to the sofa to seat 6. The sofa becomes a small double bed but a larger sofa would fit in the space available.
The Kitchen comes equipped with a full-size Indesit A+ efficiency rated under counter fridge with small freezer compartment, under the opposite counter is a separate freezer unit for added cold storage if required, a full-size inverter microwave with a grill/oven mode, a modern Indesit gas stove/grill/oven has been fitted with a conversion kit to run on propane. The front external gas locker holds 3x 13kg bottles, 2x for the combi boiler and 1x for the oven, these can be swapped around if needed. The combi boiler auto changes bottles when it’s 1st gets too low. There is also a toaster and kettle which run fine off of the inverter. Normally the gas hob kettle is used though to save power.
The Bathroom has a 12V emaciator toilet which goes to a large black water tank, this tank can be pumped out in most marinas or if needs be one of the numerous British Waterways stations, as it has its own pump out and level gauge. It also has a full-size shower cubicle fed from the combi boiler at a decent pressure, an extract fan, storage cupboards and a shaver socket next to the heated towel rail.
The Bedroom incorporates a double bed with drawers underneath for storage, remote-controlled dimmable lighting and USB sockets above a long shelf. Under the bed in a custom made stainless oversize bund is the black water tank should access ever be required.
The Engine room contains a wardrobe and utility cupboards with the engine boxed in by the oak steps, this reduces the noise/smell of the engine. The steps can easily be removed to access the engine, batteries and bilges. There is also an automatic bilge pump, a temperature-controlled bilge blower and controls for the inverter and on-board electrics. If bought for residential use there is a space for a small washing machine and socket for it.
There was a Morso diesel fired stove at the front of the boat but it was removed in favour of a twin radiator. It could be converted to wood fired for around £50 and could then be reinstalled anywhere in the lounge really. Please enquire if interested in this as it will be sold separately at some point.
