It’s with mixed emotions that we’re putting our beloved boat up for sale after three happy years afloat, only because we now need a bit more space.
She is a beautiful and reliable boat, perfect for a single person or a couple who really like each other (or, in our case, a couple, a cat and a medium-sized dog!)
Trad stern with engine room and covered cratch for extra storage. Walk-through layout, with beautiful wooden floorboards and original panelling. Bedroom area has small double bed. Galley has a full-size oven & electric fridge. Plenty of internal storage space. LPG gas. Multifuel stove with back boiler. Large inbuilt water tank (lasts 2 weeks for 2 adults). Full-sized windows throughout cabin, portholes in bedroom area and engine room. Side hatch.
Over the past 3 years, we have replaced and/or upgraded various things:
New solar panels (350W) & leisure batteries - Summer 2021
Refurbished Morso squirrel stove - Winter 2021
New freshwater (shurflo) and greywater (whale) pumps - 2022/2023
Repainted exterior - Summer 2022
Refurbished Paloma gas-fired water heater and new gas hob - Summer 2022
Retiled bathroom - Winter 2023
Full engine service and fuel tank clean - Spring 2024
The permanent mooring is on the St Edward’s stretch of the “Agenda21” moorings, Oxford Canal. It is a beautiful, quiet spot, with school playing fields on one side of the canal, and a nature reserve on the other side. Lots of wildlife and a very friendly local community of boaters.
There is a water tap, cycle and wood storage at the mooring. Parking, bins & Elsan 5 minutes walk away. Shops & pubs abound within a 5 minute cycle. Oxford City Centre 20 minutes cycle. Mooring costs currently £2600 per annum.
Within one hour of cruising, you can be on the River Thames at gorgeous Port Meadow or take the Oxford canal north to Thrupp.
I hope you enjoy boat life as much as we have. Snuggling up next to the fire in the winter, or jumping from the hatch to swim in the river in the summer, we've made memories that will last a lifetime.
