If you can t quite make up your mind which style of narrowboat shell, trad or semi-trad, would suit you best, well this boat could provide the perfect answer. Nina has a large sliding rear hatch which covers the semi-trad deck, allowing seating for the crew to accompany the steerer on sunny days, but when the weather is not at its best it can be closed leaving a small hatch for the helmsman. Cabin heating is provided by a cosy solid fuel stove in the saloon and gas blown air heating to the aft of the cabin. Nina is based on a shell by R& D Fabrications and features their slipper stern design, from the towpath she looks like any other narrowboat, but the sloping uxter plate (counter plate) is said by many R& D owners to improve handling especially when going astern. Presently the boat is only fitted with a landline, but it should not prove too difficult to add an inverter/charger and extra 230V sockets.
